ARRL East Bay Section

Jim Tiemstra, K6JAT, Resigns as Section Emergency Coordinator

Posted by af6aq on June 24th, 2009

Below you will find a note from my Section Emergency Coordinator (SEC), Jim Tiemstra, K6JAT. Jim served as my SEC from the beginning of my Term as Section Manager. He served very well, rebuilding the ARES® organization in the East Bay Section and renewing efforts to develop a section emergency plan. I will miss Jim’s input as SEC but I also know that the Pacific Division has gained a great asset. Thank you, Jim, for all that you have done for me, and for Amateur Radio and the American Radio Relay League.

Jim Latham, AF6AQ

————————————————————————————————————————————————-
Dear Jim,

Please accept my resignation as the Section Emergency Coordinator for the East Bay Section. As you know, my appointment as Vice Director of the Pacific Division requires that I devote my time and attention to fulfilling that function to an extent that precludes my continuing role as SEC of the East Bay Section.

I certainly have enjoyed getting to know you and working with you in my all too brief tenure in your cabinet. I believe that you exercise an effective and appropriate management style and philosophy for your position in the Field Organization of the ARRL. I know that you face many challenging issues and wish you the best of success in your future endeavors for the benefit of Amateur Radio in the Section. Please remember you can always look to me for support in your efforts

Although I do not have any immediate candidates as a successor for my position, I have solicited interest in the position and will assist you in finding potential candidates. If you have any ideas as to how I can further assist you in this regard, please let me know.

Once again Jim, I have enjoyed our association and look forward to working with you in the future. Best regards.

Very truly yours,
James A. Tiemstra, K6JAT
