Fremont Communications Volunteers Emergency Exercise:

Posted by af6aq on May 13th, 2010

On Saturday, May 15th, the Fremont Communications Volunteers, will conduct an emergency preparedness exercise with the Fremont Fire Department.   We will activate 4 fire stations in Northern Fremont on both VHF simplex and UHF packet and conduct message passing exercises with mobile stations within the City of Fremont.   The objective of the exercise is to simulate a loss of the county wide communications system that is presently used within Alameda County and test the ability to coordinate teams in the field with a centrally located Incident Command station.   Fremont Communications Volunteers (www.fremontares.org) meets monthly and participates in the Tri-Cities Emergency Net on 147.015+ pl 103.5 weekly on Tuesdays at 1930 hours.  Visitors are welcome to the net and if stations with VHF simplex capability want to participate in our exercise on the 15th, please contact Joe Pistritto at n3ckf@arrl.net for information.  Amateurs located in Fremont who are interested in participation in emergency services can also sign up for the Yahoo Group “FremontAres” at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FremontARES/
