I received the following announcement from Bob Vallio, W6RGG, Pacific Division Director and Alameda County Sheriff’s Communications Team Chief Radio Officer:
“It is with great sadness that I must report to you that Michael Borkon, KF6CRZ, long-time member and Adjutant of the Alameda County Sheriff’s Communications Team was taken from us on the morning of November 19, 2012. I have lost a dear friend, and the Team has lost a valued officer and member.
Michael will be laid to rest at the Salem Memorial Park, 1299 El Camino Real, Colma, CA on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, and his family invites each of us to attend.
Following the service, there will be a reception in Michael’s honor, and refreshments will be served. In remembrance of Michael’s 69th birthday, November 21, a birthday cake will be shared. The reception will be held in Hillsboro, and directions will be provided at the service.
So that his family may better prepare for the reception, they ask that you please RSVP to me as soon as possible. You may call me at 510 537-6704 or send me e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.”
