Announcement for Spring General License Class

Preparation for Amateur Radio License: General Class


This class will prepare students to pass the Federal Communications Commission examination for the General Class Amateur Radio License. Students must hold a Technician Class Amateur License or be ready to take the examination for the Technician Class Amateur License. Topics include FCC regulations, radio communication methods, electronic circuit descriptions and calculations, and operating an Amateur Radio Station. The final session of the class will be an examination session conducted by Volunteer Examiners. Textbook cost $27 payable to the instructor.

The course will start Wednesday, April 10 at Alvarado School in Richmond and end on June 5. Nine sessions from 6:30PM to 8:30PM. Register with West County Adult Education for course 2003102. Fee is $25 to Adult Education.

The Salvation Army together with the

Mt. Diablo Amateur Radio Club

will be holding a 7 week course where you can learn everything you need to earn your Technician Class (entry level)

FCC Amateur Radio License.

 

The Technician Class license is your entry to the world-wide excitement of Amateur Radio and Emergency Communications… and now you do NOT need to learn Morse code!

 

Course begins on…Thursday January 24, 2013

at 7-9 pm at The Salvation Army Concord Corps

3950 Clayton Road, (at West St.) Concord 94521

 

Registration is required.

Class is FREE but there is a $5 materials fee and Textbook if needed about $26.

Each student must have full access to a copy of the text.

 

Follow up training and License testing will also be available.

The 7-week course begins on Thursday, January 24, 2013. Each evening’s session begins at 7 pm and continues until 9 pm.

Technician Class License Course

We are planning to offer a 2012 Fall Technician Class License Course in Concord. The schedule for this course will be on Thursday evenings:

Session 3 August 30
Session 4 September 6
Session 5 September 13
Session 6 September 20
Session 7 September 27

VE Testing info to follow. All classes are from 7 to 9 pm in the Fireside Room, Salvation Army, 3950 Clayton Rd. (at West St), Concord, 94521. If you or friends have an interest in upgrading to General, Extra or getting the Technician license, we will email a registration form upon request.

East Bay Section to Offer Technician License Class

Begin the New Year by getting your FCC Technician Class license.

 

The East Bay Section of the ARRL is putting on a four week long Technician Class in Alameda CA beginning in January 2012.

 

Each session will last about 2 ½ hours and cover different topics each week.

The classes are scheduled for Wednesday evening at 7:00pm – 9:30pm with the first class scheduled for January 18th 2012.

The other three classes will be held on January 25th, Feb 1st and Feb 8th.

All classes will be held at the Alameda Fire Department Training Building at 431 Stardust Place Alameda 94501 (intersection of W Midway and Rainbow).

The classes will prepare you for the FCC exam which is scheduled for Sunday 12th February beginning at 9:00 am.

 

There is no fee for the classes, but there is a $15 fee for taking the exam. This fee includes filing costs for the exam.

 

There are no prerequisites and all are welcome to attend this popular class.
